Prof Regina Palkovits <\/a>and Prof J\u00fcrgen Klankermayer<\/a> have won the Werner Siemens Foundation (WSS) ideas competition with their project \u201ccatalaix: Catalysis for a circular economy\u201c<\/a>. The two researchers from RWTH Aachen University will receive 100 million Swiss francs in funding over a period of ten years to set up a WSS research centre in Aachen. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In addition to her work in Aachen (Chair of Heterogeneous Catalysis and Technical Chemistry), Regina Palkovits has also been Director of the Institute for Sustainable Hydrogen Economy (INW)<\/a> at Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich since last year. The INW forms the core of the Helmholtz Cluster for a Sustainable Hydrogen Economy (HC-H2). <\/p>\n\n

Two other J\u00fclich researchers are involved in \u2018catalaix\u2019: Prof. Peter Wasserscheid, the spokesperson for HC-H2, and Prof. Ulrich Schurr, the head of another structural change project associated with the research centre, Bio\u00f6konomieREVIER<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
